Welcome to the W. D. Tournaments web page. As we begin our twenty-fourth year of running scratch tournaments in the Chicagoland area, the decline of scratch bowling throughout the country continues. Many of the biggest scratch tournaments that have been around for years are no longer. We can proudly state that the Grand Boot Hill will continue for the twenty-second consecutive year once again offering competitive scratch bowling with guaranteed prize money.

Our regular Boot Hill tournaments this year along with the Grand Boot Hill will again strive to promote the sport of bowling as it should be. All of our tournaments are conducted on demanding but fair lane conditions. If you are looking to average 220 in tournament play, we suggest you look elsewhere. If you want fair cashing ratios and are looking to improve your game, our tournaments are meant for you.

Track has stepped up this year to become the official ball sponsor of the 22nd Annual Grand Boot Hill. This year's tournament will be held September 5 & 6, 2009 at Stardust Bowl, 37 Lorraine Avenue in Addison, IL. There will be two sweepers on Saturday and the main event will be conducted on Sunday. Each of the three events will be conducted on a different oiling pattern. Our tournaments are open to all bowlers except PBA members who were exempt during the '08-09 season, bowlers who are exempt for the '09-10 season and bowlers who have won a national title after 1988. Senior titles are excluded from these rules.

For the last four years we have been running scratch events in Las Vegas in February. As of now we have decided to suspend our Las Vegas tournaments partly due to the economy, the lack of commitment from the hotels/casinos and dealing with the politics of the hotel/casino/bowling center separate agendas. Our next tournament in Las Vegas will be when one of the hotels/casinos realizes what bringing bowlers into their establishment does for their bottom line and contacts us.
